I use them, I'm still working in Max 9 though, quicker than regular DirectX imho.

I wasn't able to determine if it was just my particular machine specs or if it was a general problem with DirectX, but I had real problems using a 8800GT card with DX. There were files I couldn't open using the DX drivers. I installed an older Quadro 1700 FX and used the Maxtreme drivers and all my problems were solved.

We use Maxtreme drivers on Max9. They work great.

          Long live Max9!!!

we use maxtreme here as well, max9...Oh so much faster.
I wish they'd release the better drivers faster. Without it, it's all about the "O" key. I hate looking at things in boxes though. I much prefer wires, or shaded.

Anyone heard of when they will release maxtreme for 2009, if at all?

i had a lot of problems using directx the last weeks.
every 2nd time i opened a scene in max 2008 with direct 3d, windows crashed with blue screen...
now i've installed a newer directx version and it seems to work again. so think i'll try the maxtreme out.

                  thanks for your feedbacks.

                  best regards

I'm on Qudro FX4500 and max2009 (since yesterday). Installed maxtreme on 32b partition and all works fine (ver 11.00). Speed improvement in multiples over direct 3D drivers. I can rotate a scene with more than 1m faces in realtime and faster (shaded mode with edged faces-my prefered way of working).
I'm installing 64bit version in a couple of days and will get back with report

Zoranm, are you over xp or vista?

In nvidia maxtreme page there are xp drivers only. Do you know if this xp drivers will run fine over vista?

Is it just me, or is this one even faster than the one in Max9.

I did a quick test first thing this morning. I didn't have any problems with the first file and it ran really smooth. I opened a dishwasher with all the visible parts, which is Really heavy. It took a while to shade, but once it did it was moving around pretty smoothly. Something I couldn't do before. Then I tried raising the quality of a few of the more complex parts. The first was ok, but I was running at about 2.1gigs of memory. The next one put it over the top and crashed, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the video card.
So pretty much, in my quick test, it allowed the video card to handle as much data as I could throw at it. Of course, if I had 64bit and more memory I'm sure that's a different story.

I'm using XPpro, Not Vista. Max2009, nPower, and of course Vray. No other plugins. Just wanted to throw that out there in case anyone else was was testing with the same stuff and having it fail. Works for me....so far.

Thanks for the heads up on the new maxtreme driver. I've been keeping an eye out for it. It must have just recently been released.
