Best way to render series of scenes?

I see theres some product out there by 3ddragon called VRay Batch Render Pro that does this, but is there any simple native way in Max to queue up a bunch of scenes to render out single frames? (no actual output is set, they're rendering vrimg's)?

I think I read somewhere (possibly from Brian Kitts) that you can use backburner for this.
