Anybody using Jashaka?

Hi all.

I'm looking into compositing software and my budget is realy tight. I was looking at Combustion however Jashaka is free. A few years ago I had a look at Jashaka but it was a bit over my head. So what I want to know is if anybody is using it for pruduction and/or if anybody tried it and care to "sell" me the idea of giving it another try?

did not like it, but that was an earlier version that was Linux biased
Definitely a good price for the budget conscious though.

No one uses it cos it sucks and crashes and doesn't do everything you need. Far as I know combustion is gonna be the cheapest comper you're gonna get. I'd almost be tempted to look at the free node based compositor built into blender as it's been put through a bit more production work.

I went to jashjaka website yesterday and it seems Jashaka is a dead project anyways. Version 3 is suppose to come out "any day" now. All kinds of "politics" seem to have screwed that project. I'm hesitant to try the blender version of the compositor as I tried the 3d app as a replacement for MAX a while back and I almost had to chew off my wrists to try and get something simple done in that program.

So I geuss its between combustion and after effects then. Seems combustion as a tad cheaper than after effects.

If Combustion is only a tad cheaper I may be tepted to go for After Effects as Combustion doesn't seem to be getting much attention from AutoDesk recently.

Hmmm... how can I convince my manager to buy that for our in house ArchViz department here at this architecture firm...

CompositeLab Pro seems to be the way to go. But can it do 3D is the main question since this is what I'll use it for. Like I wonder if it can track my 3d objects and I can just add rocket fumes in post instead of in max. I'll have to mail fxhome and see what thay say.

Hmmm on their website under Detailed feature list it doesnt say anything about 3D
