  • Flowing water into bath

    Hi guys,

Does anyone have a clue on how to use particle flow or something native in max to create water from a tap/faucet into a semi filled bath (which will create ripples and all that fun stuff)?

I've searched for hours and nothing comes close.

Cheers to anyone that can shed some light on this

Animated displacement maps can work wonders

I had to do something similar and I used superspray with metaparticles and some spacewarps bound to it.
      worked pretty good.
for the water i used the ripple modifier.

If your interested in the displacement route...

Here's an example of flowing water with displacement http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...ighlight=water In this one Da_elf animated some noise maps, if you have a video cam handy you can try filming a real tub surface as it fills up a few carefully placed lights should give you enough contrast and speculars to create a high contrast black and white version of the footage to use as a map see my post here http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...ighlight=waves for an idea of what I'm talking about.

just don't drop your lights in the tub!
