  • blown out png viewports?

uhm, any ideas why png's from photoshop come out brighter than tga/jpg? in irfanview the difference is only slight, but in max viewport and material editor the png comes out completely blown out:

left = png, right = tga

I think it's because png's store gamma information. I'm not really sure how can you remove this info from the file, I've never had this problem with png's.

When you're opening the image file in max, there are options in there to change the gamma (original gamma, gama=1 or custom gamma)

ah, png has gamma info in them, overriding that fixed the problem - thanks!
