man, i'd love to pre-order one too but think i'll have to wait a while..

The extra megapixels would certainly be useful in my home made fisheye HDRs, annoying though that they haven't changed the bracketing capability of it beyond the 5D.

Although it looks quite good, it bothers me the fact that it looks so videoish. I was expecting a more film-like look, not an HD one. I know it has not been postproduced, but i'm not sure u could get away from that extra-crisp look. For some people video look is not a problem and that is fine too.
That being said, for HDR must be fantastic.

And because the 50D is out the price has dropped in a large way.

It's cos it shoots at 30fps - stu maschwitz form the orphanage is petitioning canon to put in a 24fps, 25fps mode and also shutter speed control to give you a 180 degree shutter angle - hopefully he succeeds!

I was discussing all this with a red one owner and we were glad to see how the cinema paradigm is shifting. A year or 2 ago, u couldnt even consider the possibility to go digital without compromising image quality. Now, u find lots of new possibilities like this camera and many others which are increasingly broadening any aspiring filmaker's horizons.
