  • Incremental Suffix for Save Image?

Does anyone know of a script to add the ability to automatically add incremental suffixes (_01, _02, ...) to the save image dialog box (like there is the in the "save scene as..." dialog box)? When working on a project I'll typically save out multiple versions of the image all into the same folder just with a different number.

If, while saving your image, you select an already existing file in that folder, say "Image_01.jpg", you will notice that the name in the "File name" slot changes to that. Just change the 1 to a 2 and save and you're good.

You can also turn on "Hide extensions for known file types" in your Folder Options. With that on you only have to deal with the very end of the filename.

I know it's not what you're looking for, but it'll streamline things a bit.

Thanks but that's how I do it now so I was just hoping to be able to select the file in the list and hit the "+" button and have a new image saved. I really hate having the file extensions turned off - always annoys me that windows installs like this and it's one of the first things I change.
