  • Entry level employee responsibilities in Arch Viz?

Hello all, just wondering what kind of work you have your entry level artists do?

What kind of tasks do you assign to entry level artists in the arch-viz field? Do you find they require too much supervision / instruction? I know there are some really menial tasks I could assign and the good ol "build library objects" task which is so often assigned to those less experienced...

Hopefully those of you who work on teams with jr/sr artists will share your experiences / insight.

    Thanks,

well i wouldnt reccomend this method but we generally trust what people have said on their job application and dump jobs onto them from the start. kind of a trail by fire...and sometimes the clients can get upset, but can be worth it if things work out. Builds confidence early on.

Sometimes let them work on a job at the same time as another staff member so they can compare the differences and what they need to improve on. cant charge for this time though. Its hard to make comparisons unless people actually work on the job as well i think

instead of getting them to model objects, try them on modelling the outer walls, windows, doors etc and have someone more experienced work with them to finish it off and set up rendering settings. Thats another option but it can be annoying for the more experienced staff member i think.
