  • Stock house models?

    Hi all -
Quoting a retouching job that I will need to find a house model for. We need a very simple design of a house, but one that has a decent polycount so we can make a reasonably high-res render for print. The layout is still up in the air a bit, but it's basically a one or two story A-frame sort of building.

I've had a look at Turbosquid but a lot of stuff is either too big (too large and/or ornate a house etc.) or too low quality. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to find good stock house models other than TS?

    Thanks in advance,

    b

? Not sure what you mean exactly: you may have something you'd sell?

That would work to. I'm looking for a very typical American/Canadian sort of suburban home. (See attached reference)

Thanks Mike. They have a lot of great looking stuff, but it's too high-end/cool design. I need something more brass tacks, architecturally speaking

          Thanks in any case.

            House

it seems to me you could model up something quickly, within 15 minutes, based on your reference photos.

I certainly couldn't do it that fast! I need it to have a good bit of detail - the idea will be for it to be simple, but realistic enough so it needs windows and frames and that sort of thing. We have no experience making houses at all so no parts on tap, no shortcuts etc. and I won't have the time to figure it out.

                House

I see.... download a 30 day of Revit and you'll have all the parametric doors, windows, wall, you'll ever need. With Revit you can build a house in no time. If I had any I would gladly share, but mine are very custom. Sketchup might work better for you. You might want to try Google's warehouse.

Thanks - I will have a look at that. If not for this one then down the road for sure.

You can attach very small images right into your forum replies. See the thumbnail - I've indicated the button to click.

I'd be interested in seeing what you have, although I am still waiting for confirmation of that job. It may not even happen now, and I had to quote it already so the budget may not work for you - but let's see.

                      Thanks!

Thanks Janosik - these look very good. I think you are right and I am not sure if the style is quite right for a North American ad, but if this job comes through then I will submit these as an option to my art director and he can decide. Can you PM me with a price for using one of these?

                            Thanks again.
