  • Batch render scripr for Max2009 64bit

We often do multi-camera animation jobs. I have, for example, 15 cameras. Each camera path is of a different length. I want them each to use LC and IRmap and pre-calc these solutions - that's 15 pre-calc jobs. Then I want to send the 15 render jobs using these saved LCs and IRmaps.

That's 30 render jobs to backburner, each with many possibilities for making mistakes: for example - loading from the wrong LC or IRmap, saving the wrong LC or IRmap, saving the images to the wrong place or overwriting the wrong files, saving out render elements to the wrong place.....you get the idea! These kind of render jobs are also usually sent at the end of a day when I am knackered and likely to make silly mistakes!

Is there a good utility or script out there which will help me in these situations? I have downloaded 'Vray Bath Render' but it only supports Max2008.

    Any suggestions?
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

RPManager is absolutely incredible (thanks Grant!) I can't live without it.

That's quite expensive. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Now I remember that I came accross this before. I installed it and waited for the evaluation code to arrive, but it never did. I've just applied again (on two different email addresses) but I still haven't reveived an evaluation code from them.

Seems a bit odd to me.

Anyone had any luck getting a code from them?

Grant usually responds in less than a day anytime I have to e-mail them. Never more than a day. I'm sure he's quite busy, but still doesn't take too long to hear back. I really mean it's some of the best software available for Max. Not having to remember previous render settings on a per-project basis and not having to redo tedious button clicks to change settings is absolutely incredible.
I would love to hear your success with this tricky when you get it up and running.

It does sound good. I will email them direct tomorrow.

My main worry is that the limited 2-pass version for evaluation doesn't really allow for much testing. I have 2 x 15 camera animation jobs at the moment, and it would be better to have a fully functional copy for, say, 30 days to really put it through its paces.

I understand, it is limited, setup one of your 15 cameras, setup the IMAP pass, and the frames pass and test it out I guess, though it's gonna be hard to see the value if it only works for one of your passes. Perhaps he has another evaluation license option? I'd check with him.

                    Batch Render

                    Triky
Try the native Batch render that comes with Max

you need to set up scene states and set your work up in layers

I use it all the time

                    It works great
