  • Saving animation to Quicktime from Combustion 2008 brightens colours.

    Hi all

I was just wondering if anybody knows what might be the problem here.
I render my scene from max, import it into Combustion 2008 and all looks like it should, but then when i save the work to Quictime, it seems to save it with brighter (duller) colours asif it has been gammad or something.

    Regards,
    Morne

thanks for the tip. I just purchased Combustion 2008 so its the 1st time I've been able to export to H264 and so was unaware of the bug... (I dont have quicktime pro though)
          Kind Regards,

OK I found a Quicktime Gamma Stripper, (2 different version) but both say they cannot find the gama tag in my mov file and so I'm still stuck with this problem. How do other people here overcome this issue?
            Kind Regards,

I'm not sure if it'll fix your problem directly but... Lately I've been using Super C (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html) to convert all of my final videos to h.264 rather than directly in AE. Seems to give me a lot more options and I can play with compression levels to get the file size I want. I output an uncompressed quicktime and let super handle the h.264 conversion.
              www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

Going From AE or Combustion will cause problems, render uncompressed and use another program that can handle it.
We use Compressor that comes with Final Cut pro, works a charm....
