did backburner get changed with max 9 SP1? You might try and find that. Maybe that'll have it included.

I'd look at the change log also. Not sure backburner SP1 is going to give you much different results than SP2. Maybe going back to 7.00 though. Never know I guess

hey thank you, you're right. it was in the SP1 of max9.

do you know why my max (submit job) dialog is always restored to default when submitting a new job? the backburner.xml does store the new settings but doesn't load it again...!?

          thanks in advance.

mine resets too. But not always. It's super strange. Seems random even. i don't think it is though. I just haven't taken the time to figure out what I do that keeps the settings and when they go back to default.
It's really annoying when you forget to put in the server name because the default doesn't connect for us and the timeout takes forever.

We had these issues too a while back and it annoyed me enough to take that time and figure it out. What I found is that the backburner.xml file is out of order and for whatever reason it stops max from loading it properly.

              Navigate to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\backburner\Network
              open up backburner.xml

What I usually found was that the MaxClient and MaxClient_x86 tags needed to be swapped, if you cut and paste it so that x86 one is after the normal one it should work.

oh it would be so cool if I get it to work, but i don't have a <maxclient> point in the xml, only the _86 is there...

                why do you have both?
maybe you could copy the text for me and post it here...?

thank you very much for help.

                best regards

Yeah I don't know why I have both, it was early this year when I figured all that out, and I honestly don't remember the path I went down to get it working again. The Max client one is identical to maxclient_x86, just rename the main tag.
