Max saves the file when you click render, but where is that file?

Hi all

It seems max autosaves the file nowdays when you render. But where does it save this file? Does it get deleted again when render is complete? I switched off my autosave since I have a 350mb file. Setting the interval doesn't do anything as it just saves whenever it wants to, in my case every 5 minutes or so. So I just switched it off. Anyways, where does it save that temp save on render?

My file finished rendering, but then max just closed when I wanted to save the bitmap and 2 hours work gone. Isn't it fun?

well if it's not a .max, then try searching for the last accessed/created ~350meg file.
but im afraid that max/vray deletes the file after render.

thanks, I ended up just redoing. Good thing it wasn't that much...

If you sent it through backburner, it'll be on whatever machine your manager is running on in program files/backburner folder network or something like that. Had to salvage scenes out of there quite a few times.
