  • Can't delete

    Hi-

I brought some cutout people into my scene and I can't delete them. Nothing is frozen and all layers look fine. Has anybody ever come across this?

    Thanks in advance.

What happens when you press ctrl-A (select all)...do they not get selected ? Might be worth making a fresh scene and merging everything but those guys in..

I ran into something like that yesterday with a scene that used proxy's. I had to delete them in the proxy file to get them to go away in the main file. I couldn't select them either in the main file. But, these where proxy's. Not sure if that's what you have.

        can't delete

I can select, move, scale, rotate, but I can't delete them. I'll probably try merging into a new scene.

Cant you just hide them ?? It may be worth converting them to editable meshes and then back to poly and see if you can delete them then...I know i get problems with polys sometimes...i just do that and it sorts them out.

Maybe try this script, and then see if you can delete them..

Are they showing as being 'file linked'?
              Kind Regards,

I came across something today where I could not move one object up and down, but only left and right. Other objects I could move any direction. Closing max and opening again fixed it. Weird...
and I've just paid my subscription last week. Hopefully we'll still get an improved max this year (I mean with all the job cuts at Autodesk)
                Kind Regards,
                Morne

                  Did you fix it already?

We had a similar problem just now, with us it was old imported geometry from Autocad to 3dstudio viz that was still sitting in our library.
We converted the objects to editable mesh and after that we were able to delete them.
A full render queu is a thing of beauty !

                    Can't delete

I had to merge into a new scene. The 3ds of the same thing works, but the max was the issue. it was a dwg brought into a max scene.
