How can I make an object rotate fast to stand still (show it slowing down then stop)?

well the title says it. I have an object rotating very fast that needs to stop, but not stop suddenly, it needs to slow down and stop "naturally"

A script maybe? I can use the envelopes for animation but that only gets me so far....
