Max layer manager

Hi all,

Does anyone know if its possible to import a cad file with layers, and move them all on to one layer in max, but have the colours of the lines stay the same? It seems like a simple thing, but I cant get it to work!!

I like having each plan, or elevation on a single layer, but also like the line colour to stay the same as imported!

Anybody help?

Check the object properties of the imported objects. With some imports they are switched to "by layer" wich makes them use the layer's properties. Selecting them all and setting all three switch buttons to "by object" did the trick for me on some occasions.

There is a script that does this. I use it all the time. It's called DWG Cleanup and you can get it from Scriptspot. I put it into my quad menu and it works great for this problem.
