rename bitmap

is there a script that renames all the bitmaps in the scene(materials) and on the harddisk also like matr01.JPG ..... automatic.

help would be great

What do you want to name them? Do you need to copy them or just rename them?

i lookt at scriptspot but the intresting links are dead

i just want to rename all the bitmaps in my scene and the bitmap files on disk
example my scene is example.max so i want every bitmap the same name

example01.jpg example02.jpg.....
