All I can say is damn. I should show this to my wife. Then she can't complain when I bitch at her about her shopping. Just cause it was on sale, doesn't mean it was a good deal.

I just finished doing a bunch of research on new computers - my new one should be arriving this week.

This place was recommended to me by a friend of a friend who has bought many, many machines from them for visual FX work.

            http://www.lantechpc.com/

Their prices are great and there are no gotchas. I priced out an HP workstation where the base price was very low but every thing I changed cost five times what it should. i.e. to upgrade from a 250GB drive to a 1tb drive was $400, etc.

I actually couldn't build a dual Xenon system any cheaper using parts from Newegg - and I likely would have had issues with certain parts not fitting in certain cases etc.

Mac Pros are also a good option although a bit more expensive and for me, the physical size of the case was too big. I need a standard mid-tower to fit under a desk.

They present a compelling argument, guess I might have to purchase a BOXX next time around to save some cash

quatro's would chew up a lot of $ for nothing. IN fact they probably perform worse than the latest gamer cards in max
