  • Particle Flow Tools Box#2 for 3ds Max Released

I figured a few of you folks use particle flow...

The long anticipated Particle Flow Tools Box#2 for 3ds Max 9 through 2010 32 & 64 bit has been released.

    Official Release info: Orbaz Forum
Product Page: Particle Flow Tools Box#2

    Quote:
Taking advantage of the powerful PhysX™ simulation engine from NVIDIA® (included free, no special hardware required), Box#2 provides operators and tests to replicate real-world effects such as natural and man-made forces, binding particles together and then breaking the bonds, collisions between particles and with other objects, and more. Also included are several new Birth operators that are optimized for physics simulations as well as a preset flow that makes initial setup a snap. To top it all off, Box#2 gives you three new modifiers that allow particles to interact with standard mesh objects in mind-blowing ways.

    hey jrandom,
Does PhysX work on 64bit now?
I thought it was only 32 bit.........

Orbaz has designed a 32-bit wrapper to allow it to work with max9-2010 x64 on xp64 bit only.

This is due to some internal issues within Vista.

You can for instance run max 9-2010 x32 on Vista 64, so you are not totally limited if you are running Vista.

      From Oleg (the developer)
Once NVIDIA releases the true 64-bit PhysX SDK, the limitation will be lifted.
So hopefully soon it will be fully native

hopefulyl nvidia release the 64bit SDK soon.
There are a lot of dynamics plugins that are lacking PhysX support for 64bit.

Is there any chance this will be integrated into the next max version or maybe even as a subscription bonus?
            Reflect, repent and reboot.
            Order shall return.

HIGHLY unlikely. This has been in development for quite sometime. There's a better chance at box 3 being integrated then box 2. I'm just speculating though of course.

I'm sure, x64 support will be added as soon as new PhysX (3.0 or Apex) SDK arrive.
Not sure nvidia will add x64 support for 2.x versions.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?
