  • liquid filling container - not using booleans - any other methods ?

    Hi Guys,

Im having to animate a container filling up with water. I dont need to worry about surface tensions or realism, but I do need to reflection and refraction to work properly. I tried using booleans but that gave bad results. Pro-booleans just kept crashing when I tried to animate the cutting mesh up to show the water level rising.

Any other ideas..im kind of stumped ??

Sok. I managed to use the slice operator and animate the slice plane..added a cap holes modifier above that and it works a treat

if you need to fake the surface I find animation of a spline that is lathed sometimes works...
just animate the top vertexes. If you are pouring from empty the slice modifier mentioned before will work much better...
Two heads are better than one ...
....but some head is better than none.....
