  • Realistic 3D Characters

Does anyone know of any model libraries of realistic human characters? Here at my office we've gone through many different ones such as Dosch, AXYZ and a few others, but to be honest none of them actually look like real people. What we're really looking for are models we can rig and put in the mid-ground of visualisations that people can look at without thinking they look stupid or obviously CG

Any recommendations would be most gratefully received

    People

AXYZ has some very nice ones. You can get high resolution people and with the normal maps they look great.

Basically, what you're asking for doesn't exist. The best ones are AXYZ, but no they aren't photoreal. Your only other option is to book a session with a full-body 3D scanner, and scan some actors in various poses, but even then you'll need to tweak the hell out of the materials to get them to react realistically to the lighting.

        I can recommend rocketbox:

They wont work directly in front of the camera but are way better then the rest.
        Reflect, repent and reboot.
        Order shall return.

Wow, for the price a 3ds Max license, they must be really great!?

You know they're really not! They're stylized, and there's nothing wrong with that - they're well done in that style, but they're suited more to games than realistic arch viz!
