    Is it possable to nicely divide a poly into segments? Nice equal segments and not the mess the subdivide modifier creates. It would be nice to create a nice gride on my poly's that I use to model my site plans.

    Quadrilaterals

    I did a search and found a good solution for me.

    pro booleans, included with the max 8 subscription, can do it to some degree.
    you have to perform a boolean operation with a dummy object, like substracting a box that doesn't intersect.
    then you can use the "make quads" option.

        you can use tesselate modifier. It needs to be tweaked somewhat from default settings:

        operate on - polygons;
        tension - 0;

        iterations will control num subdivisions.
