  • parking & grading

I'm recently working on several projects that require very precise grading from CAD files...my problem is the parking since the surfaces slope in different directions...what is your workflow to deal with this situation?
my first thought was placing the cars few inches above ground and applying reactor...I used reactor once for courtines and fabrics so i'm not an expert...or somebody knows a script to do that? or another trick?

    Thanks,

Reactor is overkill for something so simple. There is a utility called Glue and also a script in the SouldBurn collection, Object Dropper. Both will drop objects and align them to the normals of the surface.

I tried Glue, but it doesn't work well for this situation....the ground has slopes , when you drop the car, the four tires are not touching the ground....thanks, I'll check the other script

use Glue but check "use surface normals"

Object dropper for me, simple and fast. Soulburn scripts are usefull in lots of situations, including this one

as i said, I already tried glue (with use surface normals)...it works 80% of the cases, what i want to figure it out is what would be the best way to drop objects in surfaces and the object really touch the surface in all the points that need to be in contact.

I don't know how glue works, but i think, it takes the lower center point of the object theen projecting it to the surface, taking the normal there but where the wheels are located may have the same normal or not.

I'll try object dropper. Thanks fot your input!!

if your tires and body are seperate then you can build a rig that works perfectly
