  • Question for us commerical guys - 29.97 or 30fps?

    Hi Folks,

Just a query to the US post guys - when you're doing an ad what frame rate do you work with? We're doing a 30 second ad that's animated so there's no issue with shot footage - what frame rate do you edit / comp at and what rate do you supply the end ad at? Obviously 30fps is handiest for convenience sake but what do you guys normally use?

    Cheers,

    John (in pal land)

i usually go to dvd so i prefer 24p (6 less frames a second to worry about)

24p seems to be gaining momentum with folks doing a pull down to 30 after!

It seems to be an option alright - make a 1920 master and let the us guys make copies at the spec they want.

keeps it felxible. bit more of a render hit, but saves you having to re-render if it ever gets asked for.
