  • Any Maxscript Developers want to take on SIBL?

sIBL is a great plugin that allows for quick, easy, and efficient setups of HDRs within 3dsmax. The problem is, the last person who was kind enough to donate his spare time to developing the script for Max doesn't want or doesn't have the time to code for the latest version of sIBL.

Is anyone out there willing to take a look at this?

I never quite understood the point of the smart IBL initiative.

A few years ago, the answer to my question was: It's smaller filesize because you can split the lowres GI dome hdr from a hires JPEG for background only. That didn't satisfy me because: .) I don't care about filesizes .) It doesn't seem right, because a JPEG for background doesn't support hdri DOF/motion blur effects etc.

I still don't get it, is it just some UI for nice hdri-presets with light-at-sun postion, or is there more behind it?

What's wrong with the current script? What kind of features do you want to get implemented?
