directx 9 or 11

hi there,
i setup my new pc. i purchased a gtx 275 graficcard and installed the driver from the cd which came with the card. in the settings i saw that directx 9.0c is installed, the actual version of directx is 11.
do i have any need to upgrade to directx 11, are there any andantages in doing so, and if i want to do this, can i install only directx 11 or should i get a graficcard driver with that directx version?

You need Vista or Windows 7 to use DirectX 10 or 11. Perhaps some games use DirectX 10 or 11, but 3ds Max goes up to 10 only, and from the times I have used it, it does not work well. For Max it is better to use DirectX 9 until they fix 10. Besides Spinal Tap, I don't think anyone has gone up to 11 yet.
