is there a way to save a scene at a keyframe? I usually do stills, but I have some rigged peoples posed. I hate having to set the timeline each time.

I dunno how that would perform on a whole scene. But you can do a snapshot of the animated meshes to have them as rigid editable polys.

If you need to keep them animated and just want to save a version of the file for a specific frame the only workaround i'd come up with from scratch would be setting the timerange to start at that frame so it would be the frame that is shown when loaded.
