  • Google Adwords

Just a heads up for you all if you are using Google Adwords in your advertising strategy.

I have just been doing some Google searches for the term 'blinkimage' (our company). The sponsored link that appeared was as follows:

    Blinkimage
    CGI Renderings And 3D Modelling
    For UK Architects And Developers
    www.iCreate3d.com

I have contacted iCreate3d and instructed them to remove the ad immediatly, but I suggest you try it with your own company name. This is clearly misrepresentation.

This is actually against the Adwords t&c's to jump on someone elses name for your own company. Might want to inform Google if they don't sort it.

They now seem to have removed the advert, thankfully. Not a nice way to do business if you ask me...

BTW, have you ever tried contacting Google? Its an absolute nightmare! You are left to trawl through 'similar sounding' FAQs, and only then can you fill in a feedback form and hope to get a reply. Don't get me wrong, I love Google: its very clever. But there are problems when companies get so big.
      Kind Regards,

Sneaky, when googling Arcmedia (our company) Jarvis design pops up as a sponsored link.

email on its way to Mr Jarvis Design...

I would call them - not email them!

<EDIT: if its just a key word search, I'm not sure you could do anything about that unfortunatly. It is certainly 'underhand', but probably not breaking any rules. However, if Arcmedia appears as a trading name for somebody else, then you would certainly have grounds>

Same with Lunarstudio - pulls up renderinghouse.com. I tossed them a letter:

            To Whom it May Concern:

I was informed that a search for Lunarstudio in Google would pull up renderinghouse.com under the sponsored search category and discovered that this is the case.

I would to further inform you that this is against Google's AdWords Terms of Service and Contract.

I request that you remove this ad for Lunarstudio immediately, otherwise I will be forced to report this breach of terms to Google.
            Maybe I'll report them anyways.

Were they using your company name in the advert or was it just a keyword 'lunarstudio' that pulled up the ad?

Can you believe these people though? How do they feel that this is acceptable?
