  • Mac rendering vray thru Parallells?

I am thinking about adding a Mac to our office. It might be running OS X and not Windows natively most of the time.

While it's sitting around unused is it possible/practical to run it as a network renderer through Parallels? Has anyone done this?

I know I could reboot into Windows and use it -- but the computer will be used sporadically (in OS X) and we wouldn't want to reboot it constantly.

    Hi,

I know this dos not answer your question but Autodesk now supports a lot of their applications through Parallels - So it might work.

Yeah, that's what gave me the idea. I got the feeling that Autodesk is just trying to cozy up to the Apple crowd by making that announcement, but I bet Max has been running under Parallels fine in the past (slowly, but fine). But I'm just guessing, I don't have a Mac (yet).
