  • What's your title on your Business Card?

    Hi all

I've seen some strange titles and was just wondering what title you put for yourself on your business card?

    3D Artist
    Art Director
    Technical Director
    Producer
    3D Generalist
    3D Expert
    VFX Expert
    Senior 3D Dude extraordinary
    General dog's body
    Owner and Operator

    or maybe a combination?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

    Supreme Commander and Overlord.

Actually, I switched from CEO (sounded cheesy) to 'Owner and Artist.'

Firstly, I'm the owner. Secondly, people don't seem to know that I'm also an artist and I need to remind them that they make my life hell. I'd much rather prefer artist as I hate the business side of things...

It's funny because I have a friend that works in the music business - he told me that every rapper that came to him had business cards made up - and that every single one of them is either a 'President' or 'CEO' and that they're always handing out their cards to women.

Titles are so diluted now when it comes to impressing people unless you're part of a major organization. I suppose they should really let people know what aspects of a business that you're involved in.

It generally could be summed up as either 'Head Honcho' or 'Peon.'

I just put Digital Effects and Animation. Thought what i do was more important then the title saying what i am. I also wanted something general but indicative....

                  Founder

But that's a good question, never know what to put when I print new cards !

                  Maybe "Art Director" next time

Director for me. I have a strapline under the logo explaining what work the company does.

"Guy who will do anything to survive" or "Graphics Specialist" or "Arch Viz Wiz"

The "3D" tag is hip and all, however we do a lot more then just 3D work like photo manipulations and video editing and maybe even a little web, interactive and print work.

                        I shun all titles!

quick tip though while on the subject of business cards, I got got mine from moo.com - you can upload images or import them from flickr. They are very good quality and very cheap (i think)

Bought some cards from moo.com after seeing peter's tweet about them. The different background image on each card makes it totally worth it.

I once almost convinced the powers that be to let me call myself "Master of Time and Space". When I ran my company I was "Architectural Illustrator" now I am just "demoralized whore taking up space".
