Reactor Waves

Hi there,
is it possible to simulate waves from a boat with reactor water, but with a hand animated boat, not with reactor animated?
i allready animated the boat, and just want to having some waves in front and from the back the boat.

i think there is a reactor tutorial on how to do this somewhere, maybe try the tutorials that come with 3dsmax
