  • Touch screen monitors to be obsolete soonish

MIT is showing its advances in 3D gestural computing with a bi-directional monitor: it senses your hand movements, and then directs the computer to move the 3D model. (Optical sensors are embedded behind the LCD screen.)

A little out there, but I thought I would share.

Um, that's nice and all, but what if you want to stop quickly?

      Stop

Hmmm... good question. Maybe if you stop motioning it'll stop moving.

Interesting take on the "Augmented Reality" type systems.

theres lots of adaptations that look ridiculous: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9HMn6bd-v8

and some that are a little closer to what you're saying/reality http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avrbEXN8lzg albeit low budget currently

Don't know if "soonish", looks like something a decade away, but definitely a glimpse of a possible future interactive environment. Let's see if Apple make it cool and market it
