So, I recently and unfortunately upgraded to the latest version 257a.
No it keeps giving me error of missing license key file. I sent them a new id file, etc. and eventually I received a new key, but hat has not fixed or even changed the problem...
So, has anyone else tried to update and had license problems? I saw Da_elf had posted similar issue on the scatter forum, any result?
In fairness to iCUBE, this was the first licensing problem for me, but it has almost been a "deal-breaker" due to incredibly slow or absent customer support/response.

I am quite close to switching over to the Forest Pro system!
    Oh yeah,
latest V-Ray, Max 9 sp3 64 bit vista ultimate, blah, blah....

    Thanks,
    JR

Im still 2 versions behind you and dont seem to have any problems apart from vray crashing on the render nodes if I cancel the render during or before the lightcache setup.

yeah, I may go back down a version as their customer service is painfully slow and iffy...so I can't wait around for them anymore.

I'm getting curious about doing this, too. Did you actually get the refund in a timely manner?

Been considering purchasing a scatter utility for a while. I guess it looks like Forest Pro might be a better choice.

I'm using GroundWiz, VRayScatter and Forest Pro. Support for GroundWiz and Forest Pro is really outstanding, which gives me a very comfortable feeling when doing my day to day work. Both also integrated requested features relatively fast...well Forest Pro extremely fast !! I would almost say: buy both products just for their support.

VRayScatter has helped me out in some cases where my basic scene already was very heavy, but generally I'm not that happy about it. I had to buy 2 licenses just so I'm able to use it in the office and at home (after waiting a full release for free rendernodes) and the current licensing system is total crap: it's said to be based on a hard disk, but you need new license keys (which could take a week and consequently could cost you a job) when using the same disk under another OS or in another system system. I prefer to use GW and FP because you can work in a more detailed mode (by showing the full proxies), which is almost impossible with VRS. VRS is faster with huge proxy counts (millions), where GroundWiz is (very)slow when counts are larger then 100K.

Yes. I got the refund in a timely manner , but mine just plain didn't work. The developer couldn't figure out what the problem was.

Well, the developer is working on it, I think, but they are unfortunately too late for this project, anyway. Now only the demo version will work at all, even in a new screen with primitives as V-ray proxies.
The V-ray proxies were the same ones that used to work before I updated to version 257a...so I think they were fine.

been waiting for the option to use multiple proxies when scattering.. turns out you'll have to pay extra to upgrade to this tool called Multiscattering >

yeah, that is very sad to see. Well, they were able to resolve the problem, so I'll keep using it here and there...Still might replace it with FPP someday...Thanks for your comments, members.
