Just a heads up - I noticed I took a massive hit working in wireframe with the 195.62 nVidia drivers on a 260 GTX. Reverted back to their previous 191.07 ones and all is better again. I'm assuming that this might apply to all 2xx cards.

Np. It was really bad - I've actually never seen it that bad short of a crashing system. At first I thought my computer was "just getting old." Then I thought, "well maybe I have too many items grouped." The third thought was, "I wonder if iTunes is somehow interfering with everything." Then I started thinking, "I hope I didn't get a virus because scans take way too long."
Nightmare drivers...

Wow dude thanks so much. I remember seeing this post and today i had a pretty heavy scene that was extremely slugish to select things. However Thanks to your post i reverted back to these drivers and whoooolaa great performance. What a difference! do these guys not test these drivers before releasing them GODDDDD !!!
Again thanks so much for noticing this.

I think they test it for fun, then secretly wish you'd purchase a Quadro instead.
Which card are you running btw?

I'm on a 260 too. Note that there is a difference also if you have hardware enabled in the viewports. Shut off shadows too imo...
