Hi,
Boring but essential!
I have found a few old chats about this, but nothing recent and I need to find a better system...
At the moment I am backing up on external drives using sync toy, however it can bring the whole network to a crawl when our workstations try and get something from the server (either files or a software license) and max can die, so I end up having to stop it so we can work and render.
I need to be able to backup while we are working without any slowdowns. Our active working folder averages about 500GB which need to be backed up as often as possible, and then there is another big one with all software etc on which will be fine once a month. And then obviously archive old projects off.
I have used tapes before and not keen on them in terms of getting stuff back off them, but maybe they are the better of 2 evils?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Nick
