Remote desktop with direct X support...any tips?

Hello guys,

i need to find out what is the best remote desktop software for controlling my work PCs...

i ve tried LogMeIn Hamachi but unfortunately, it doesnt see MAX interface and viewport ((

is there any package that supports this feature?

so that i can remotely reset cameras, navigate through viewport etc?

LogMeIn has Hamachi and LogMeIn (free and Pro), they are 2 different products. LogMeIn is the one you need for remote access:

Weird...i always got grey screen in max with Logmein saying it cannot initialize something .... you sure it works in direct X? or do i have to swith to OpenGL?
Will have a go with RealVNC as well

I'm using hamachi for tunneling and RealVNC for remote desktop...it works with directx and and opengl viewports.
RealVNC comes with a "mirror driver", it's some kind of optimized display driver for remote sessions, it might help to disable it. With Windows7 the aero windows style is disabled when the mirror driver is used.

I use hamachi with remote control all the time and I don't have any problems. If you are seeing your desktop or gray screen then swap your graphics display. If the one isn't working the other will.

Not sure if it's still avalible but ROYAL-TS is a good free software that will do what you need also

I've never had problems using any programs through Logmein. I've used Max with OpenGL in the past, and Direct X currently. Strange that it does not work with Max, does it work with other programs?

You mean work on your workstation through the laptop? It might work if you have a really blazing fast internet connection. Otherwise it will be too slow.

i think i owe you guys an update....installed LogMeIn Pro2 and it works liek a CHARM!!!!!
i can even model from home with no delay at all!!! using DirectX ))

I will definitelly be buying this stuff for my comps one my grace period ends its perfect....no more runnig to office to tweak cam s and checking on renders )))
