  • File change notification utilit for XP

I am looking for a tool/utility that notifies me whenever a file is changed or updated, or a file is added to a 'watched' folder.

The primary use for this would be to notify the post-production artist when a render file has been changed or added in a particular folder. So the render guy does his render, saves the image, and the PP artist gets a little flashing icon (or something) on his task bar that tells him a file has been changed/added.

Does this exist? It would need to run on XP64.
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

Pretty sure does...dont have links at hand atm. Just for the record you can configure backburner to send mail notifications on job completion, failures and even per frame if needed.

    Regards,
    Thorsten

Thorsten. Yes, Backburner does have that function which we've use din the past. However, this is more for 'haphazzard' type renderings that aren't done through BB.

It does seem that this kind of utility exists, but I'm ideally trying to find a very simple, free one that somebody could recommend.

May be a bit of a 'big ask' though!

I don't know if the free version can do it too, but SyncBackSE can watch a folder for changes to start a backup operation then. It can also send mails or start programs.
