ObjectPaint looks pretty useful, i hope its as fast as in the videos with a normal gamer graphics card. By the way, can you undock those graphite modeling tools bar? it seems that it takes quite a lot of screen space...

hmm looks pretty nice so far.
but can't adapt to the ui...
first thing i've done after installing 2010 was to remove the graphite tools from the top toolbar.

I agree. Most people at my current job have it off. None of them like it. Its clumsy, cluttered, unorganized and stacked with lots of strange icons. My 2 cents.

The ribbon would be ok if it wasn't that slow. I got about the fastest computer one can buy, and it's still slow and unresponsive. That's unacceptable.

I do'nt know how peaople like this UI. In fact Iì'm working with 3ds max 2009+ Polyboost. Hope better in Max 2011. For Max 2010 Some CGTalk user biult a custom CUI with toolbar. Much better, but with some tool we need a input spinner, so we can switch on again the brrr.. ribbon...

Anyway, about this video:

(*) I use a soft-selection manipulator from 3ds max 4 (YES, MAX 4) with this script. See the video. works very well and I can see in viewport a realtime manipulator. Ok, only fallof, but... And I prefer see the "Soft.selection" curve in the Command pannel. With max 2011 I can't see very well what I do with the soft selection Ribbon (brrr....) spinner...

(*). Finally Autodesk integrate tha good-old Advanced painter script ehh... but, like Nail said, we prefer a Scatter modifier, not a tool. So, I can't do any changes after the scatter process. Or no?


(*) The viewport canvas is good, nothing to said, but I think most people use a ZBrush or Photoshop to paint a pro-texture.

Indeed, it is kinda sad to see autodesk steering away from procedural modeling/setup through modifers by not updating or creating modifiers.
