does anyone have a model of a jib arm? doesnt need to be rigged im a pretty good rigger

how do you get one of those models into max?

Unless there's a plugin floating about, you'll need a Pro version of SketchUp to export anything out. Which one would you like?

if you download sketchup pro, you have like 70 hours to try before buying,( wich is enough to transfer dozens of models. )
In Max 2011, there will be a sketchup import...

i use max2009 so anything suitable for that.

I'm pretty sure it's in max 2010. It's a subscription thing, we've been using it for ages.

It's actually really good too, brings in pretty clean geometry.

Yep, we've got the Sketchup import plugin with the 2010 Connection Extension, it's for subscribed users only though.

decided to built one myself. got to finish off the 3 axis camera mount and the tension clamps for the cables then see if i can rig something for the whole thing to work off of two control nodes. one for the arm and one for the 3 axis mount. i think ill just end up leaving the whole thing as FK though
