Still a bit waxy, lips need work. Texture needs a bit more detail, lighting needs finalized. Model needs minor tweaking (do the eyes look too far apart to anyone else?)

Yeah, tomorrow I'm going to investigate getting the high-frequency detail to pop more, via making a bump. The more SSS effect you have also the more it gets drowned out quickly. I think I've got that part down though, just need to work out the bump/spec/gloss maps, or maybe it's my displacement.
Vlado, I'm using 2d displacement with a resolution of 4096 (same as the displacement map) and displacing 0.1" am I doing anything wrong in regardings to displacing the character head?Colin Senner

No no problem at all Jeff. Still got that old old avatar I see. Might be time for a change .
I figured it out, I had the vraydisplacementmod set to displace 0.05". But I read a bit more online and evidently (and clearly looks better) I should have been doing a displacement amount to 0.05" and a shift of -0.025". I just wasn't getting much detail out of the displacement before this, now it looks much better. I'll share my entire sculpt and setup as soon as I'm done.
Here's today's update in a variety of HDRI locations, lol. Didn't get around to the lips today. Can't bring myself to fix them. Please select your favorite and I'll continue with it.
No GI, didn't even bother rotating the hdri maps.
