  • Realflow question...

    Guys,

Quick question for those of you that are familiar with realflow. I've been asked to create a logo out of liquid, something similar to the image below. Is this kind of thing possible in realflow? I've no idea about realflows workflow, but I'm guessing this kind of thing has to be possible?

Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Judderman

For something like that i'd just take a load of photos of water splashes and do it in photoshop.

      hi Judderman

You can do that thing in Realflow 4 using the magic daemon (http://www.realflowforum.com/view_topic.php?pid=4674)
there is also a handy selection of realflow 4 tuts here: (http://cg.tutsplus.com/articles/web-...realflow-tuts/)

however, Realflow 5 has just been released, which has a Morph feature, which should help you achieve the effect you are after

      Good luck!

If the image is static you could model the logo and use it as a particle emitter and then wrap the particles in meta-particles.

Cheers for the responses guys. It is a static image - not familiar with meta particles though, I'm assuming it sort of blends closer particles together? Is it built in to max or is that something additional?

          Thanks,

Read up on it - seems like that could be a good way of doing it. Will let you know how I get on

If it's static I would defiantly shoot it and make it in photoshop.

Or.....i'd shoot lts of splashes and poly model it.

There are some third party free metablob plugins the can speed up the process, they area bit hard to track down but can make life a bit easier.
Trying to do a sim would be more realistic but a lot more frustrating.
