  • How to make seamless as well as non repeating dune texture?

    Hi all

I have a small dune image which needs to be put on a large area. To make it seamless is pretty easy. The problom comes in when you look at it from a distance it should tile (or repeat)

How would yo tackle the problem? Any texture makes software or something out there or is it a case of photoshopping for 3 days till you get it right?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

use 3 textures - one tiled at 5,000 sq, one tiled at 6,000 sq and a mask tiled at 15,k sq. The mask and the 2 maps going out of sync should do the job. I use it all the time for aerial shots.

I ended up erasing the edge of the bitmap with a large soft brush. Then cloned it a couple of times and in this instance it worked great. Next time I would however like to try cubiclegangster's trick

You can do cubiclegangsters trick with a maxscript too which would simply wrap the composite material. Hmm.. maybe i'll do that myself!
