Snow Flow opinions? and snow materials...

Has anyone used the SnowFlow plugin? The samples look good but they only show a very small scene. I wonder if it works on wide open landscapes?

How are people creating snow? Both modeling and what type of materials?

Not used snowflow but there is a great example of snow on Ronen Bekermans forum, remind me to give you a link when I'm not using my iPhone to type if you don't find it!
