This sure looks amazing.... But again the hardware used and the soft. limitations, no clue on that yet... But a Vegetal render at 0.012 sec sounds nice.

What is it about this that looks amazing? Did you play, for example, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion when it came out? In 2006? Because that's more or less what I see.

Ya but if it is a straight plug in for max, and it can render out an animation in real time , then is going to change the work flow of test renders and end images.
Again if it is a striaght plug in and does not cost the earth, playing a game is one thing not having the bake every thing and optimize everything will be a major change.

The success of something like this depends greatly on three things:

          1. Ease of use.
          2. Price.
          3. Quality.

I think the quality of what has been shown is sufficient as long as the other two are acceptable as well.

To be honest it looks much more like a standalone app built around a game engine running the viewport to me!
            Could be wrong of course.

Yes it does , they say it works with Max, but unless it works within max as a plugin like Vray which I doubt, it may not fly.
I worked with Formz and a lot other packages over the years and that used to add a degree of difficulty for me, and why I moved to Max in the end.

If the Export from Max and Import into the App works well then I think there will
be a LOT of uses for this App!

Expensive...but may be worth it since it seems very easy to use. I just finished watching the Revit import tutorial video that they put up, and it seems clear that they have autodesk beat at their own game on importing the fbx format. That alone may be market enough for a tool like this.

They also tout the ability to compile the scenes as standalone executables, which has some added value as well.

Still, that is a lot to wager on a relatively new software developer when the industry is understandably so cautious with spending.

Lumion looks to be a similar tool that is in development from the makers of quest3d. It looks promising as well, so maybe there is a little competition in this market.

I've got a high-end system w/ 12gigs of ram and a 480gtx. I installed the trial, played w/ it for two solid days and it's awesome...when it works. Currently, it seems bug-ridden and doesn't work reliably, as should be partially expected w/ most new releases. What is NOT expected is the outrageous cost for buggy software with the practically mandatory subscription for bug-fixes/updates.

I installed it, played with it after a few crashes, uninstalled it

Reminds me of an experience I had some few years ago with a company from Madrid...I promised myself I would never fall again for a nice package before I saw the contents !
