  • The "go ahead" phenomenon.

I've been complaining about this for at least 10 years, but it just won't go away!

Every video tutorial to demonstrate a computer graphics technique or software is done by someone who has "go ahead" Tourette's syndrome!

Can we all come together as a community and put an end to this????

Count the number of times that the host of this tutorial says "Go ahead"
      http://www.thedigitalphotographyconn...Photographers+

That's just the latest example to cross my path, but probably more than 95 percent of all computer graphics tutorials are like that to some degree. At any given SIGGRAPH those two words will be uttered about a million times a day and it is completely unnecessary.

It's similar to rappers who constantly ask "Nome sain?"

Drives me crazy too. I'm going to go ahead and add my +1 to that.

Maybe its subliminal messaging in the cam software! I remember noting this a really long time ago when i watched Frank Delise model a dolphin.

Hahaha! This has irritated me for years. I'm just glad I'm not alone!

I've also noticed a stragne tendancy for some people to say 'acrossed' instead of 'across' in their videos - even if english is their first language.

I just wish all tutorial videos had subtitles. Or at least they could decide what they were going to say and write it down first.

I think that would eliminate the 'go ahead' phenomenon too.

If someone makes up time to record a free video tutorial for the community and gives away free knownledge i would go ahead and just say "Thank You!" and STFU...my 2 cents.

                          Fair enough. I stand corrected.

Hey, not all CG tuts are done out of the goodness of people's hearts. The guys who get paid by software companies to work SIGGRAPH crowds and make everything seem effortless are the worst culprits of this.

i would rank those presentations rather then tutorials.
