  • Removing ALL hatches from autocad drawings (autocad 2009)

We receive 2d plans and elevations that often contain lots of awful hatch patterns that we need to remove. Normally, we just run a FILTER from the command line to erase all hatches, but quite often, the hatches are within blocks which aren't selectable in this way.

Anyone know of a quick way to remove ALL hatches from a DWG file?
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

    quick select, hatch, delete
    quick select, blocks, explode,
    quick select, hatch, delete
    quick select, blocks, explode, etc

edit: oh, you want to keep blocks? I dont know. I never bother, everything gets exploded.

Yep, this is what we've been doing. I wondered if there was a better way, like a 'viewing option' to tell all hatches/effects etc to just f-off!

Before the days of "solid" hatch, I've had people hatch with a very fine dot (to try and simulate solid), then they explode the hatch who knows why. Can you say "millions of little dots"?

At my old civil engineering place (cad monkey) my old boss managed to seriously piss off one of the architects.
As you can expect, the next issue of drawings we got were completley exploded and all on one layer, in white. Was also my job to get it into a useable state...

Sometimes I pop files into illustrator and find it much easier to clean up things in there.
