?? I some how have turned off snap once I'm out of creating something (be it a mesh or a spline). It works fine while I create something but then I can't get it to work out side of that. It works fine in 32 bit but not in 64 bit. I'm not sure how to fix it (help is not helpful in max for troubleshooting)??

    Any suggestions? Thanks

    hey,

It could be due to a grid helper being active and hidden. Be sure home grid is active. (just my 2 cent)

Thanks, but no, completely empty scenes have the same problem. I even created a grid helper and turned it off and set the home grid on. still the same problem.
I don't know enough about how things work under the hood of max but I looked at the script function_snaps.ms and it looks exactly the same as the one in the 32 bit folder. I was poking around in maxscript help and they give examples of that script. (when I type in snapmode.setOSnapItemActive 5 1 (not (snapmode.getOSnapItemActive 5 1)) to toggle snap I get nothing in return when it's supposed to come back with OK. ? When I type in snapmode.getOSnapItemActive 5 1 it always comes back as true for the 64 bit but I can't seem to toggle it.
