attachment constraint not working!

I have used an attachment constraint to fix a dummy to an animated mesh, and have linked an object to this dummy. When scrubbing in viewport all works fine and updates as it should, but when it comes to rendering it doenst update the position - clicking manual update works, but can't do this for multiple frames!!

need to fix this ASAP - Any ideas??

Thanks Chris, sorted it now - there was a turbosmooth (turned off in viewport) and shell on top of the stack, made the turbo visible and banged an edit poly on top and re-attached the dummy constraint and seems to render now
