Netbook as license server?

Has anyone tried such a thing or something similar? I'm sick of touch-and-go connections via hamachi and would much rather have something I can pickup and take home while I'm the only 3d guy in the office.

Note that this isn't just for vray where I can take the dongle home - it's for things like forest pro and rail clone and other plugins that have a floating server.

if you are the only one using those application why you have floating licenses?
usually standalone licenses allow that you can install them twice ( workstation & laptop)
