I didnt realise "the stig" was going to be used in this film !

I have to say that although I think the Jeff Bridges younger cgi is good, it isnt the best Ive seen in the most recent films.

Very interesting read all the same..

Rinzler "the stig" was one of my favorite characters of the film!

As far as the CLU animation, I wonder if the cg-ness of some of it was intentional. It appeared that even the moments when CLU and the younger Kevin Flynn were side by side, it was pretty easy to distinguish through their expressions and mannerisms which character was which despite having an identical physical appearance.

I enjoyed the movie a lot, but I enjoyed the original as well, so my opinion may be biassed.

For the folks from DD, great job! It's always a treat to watch your works on the big screen.

i thought that the face (the mouth and the eyes) needed more life. Its a common mistake with creating digital faces. If you see there tracking markers on his face are really large gots, mostly concentrated in the cheeks, but there is barely any around the eyes and the corners of the mouth. I think after all the reprocessing, cleanup and so on, this information becomes lost, creating that cg feel to the face.

I still liked the original a bit more, but this was a refreshing revisit to the story. Cool they kept Bruce B. in the cast. RE: CLU, he is supposed to be a cg copy of Flynn, so maybe they intended for him to look just a bit cg?

I enjoyed it. I did think Clu was a little plastic but I wonder how he would have looked in a movie where we didnt know he was CGI if we would notice.

Seems that Clu was done with MR...

                    excerpt from
                    http://www.chaosgroup.com/en/2/news.html

"Four separate software rendering programs were used in the making of the film: Mental Ray (for Clu, an anthropomorphized computer program that looks like a youthful Jeff Bridges), V-Ray (for the Tron world), RenderMan (for various technical elements) and proprietary code developed at visual effects studio Digital Domain to connect the disparate programs”, says Kosinski in an interview for Fast Company."
